This may be hands down my favorite room in the house.
We found this bed at the Restoration Hardware Outlet during a sale and it was already marked down (I think we paid around $400 for it…for reals!) and I LOVE it’s presence. It is such a statement piece all on it’s own. One of my favorite things is switching out pillows and our duvet cover. I am all about neutral in our bedroom, but my husband likes pops of color so pillows are a fantastic compromise. That beautiful throw on the end of the bed is my prayer shawl. It was a wonderful gift during a very difficult season of my life. I have spent many hours wrapped in that shawl praying, crying and thanking the Lord for all He has given me and done in my life. One of my favorite memories is now praying with one of our little people wrapped in my arms and the shawl wrapped around us. It may be one of the most meaningful pieces in our room. I made that book page wreath years ago and it has made it’s way around various locations in our homes. I love it above our bed surrounded by our families sihouettes.
Our dresser was also a Restoration Hardware Outlet find (seriously was like $500!! The outlet near us closed, I cried). It is such a beautiful statement piece that it needed very little decorating (that and I’m also into simplicity in our room). I took two books, tore the covers off, burned around the edges and tied some twine to make an easy decoration. The glassybaby is a statement all it’s own. And the three silver trays I found for $5 at a garage sale (steal!).
Just in the interest of keeping it real…this big open space is where my someday ‘Jesus chair’ is going. I have the chair all picked out, and in time it will be in this space – that stool painted distressed white with a light on it. Right now it’s kind of a blank space in our room (truthfully it’s where our throw pillows go at night), but I’m excited to envision what it will one day be.
